Looking out my window…

the sun is actually shining! Wooohoooo! We have a lot of picnics and barbecues on the calendar this month so I’ve got fingers crossed that it will continue.

I am thinking…

about the big proofreading/editing job I need to complete this week. It may sound like drudgery to you but research, writing, editing – all of that is something I love!

I am thankful…

for all the work that is coming my way! It’s not just that my schedule is full, but it’s full of work that I truly love. It’s really motivating to wake up each day and do the things I want to do.

Well, nothing at the moment. I have some sewing projects ready to go but I need to complete them. The big news is that I now am the proud owner of both a Silhouette CAMEO 3 and a Cricut Maker. I can’t wait to try them out!

I am reading: The Curious Charms of Arthur Pepper by Phaedra Patrick. It was recommended as something you’d like if you enjoyed The Storied Life of AJ Fikry by Gabrielle Zevin.

I am watching: Grey’s Anatomy. Trying to get caught up on this season. I’ve been watching since episode 1 and I’m going to see this series through to the end! (They’ve been renewed for 2 more seasons.)

I am hoping…

to find a good volunteer job that suits both my schedule and my health restrictions. I would like to be able to give back even more to my community.

In my kitchen…

I am all about grilling and fresh local produce. Lots of grilled meats and vegetables and potato and pasta salads.

In the school room…

We don’t really have a school room yet but Walter has been learning all kinds of new things. One of his favorite things is to carefully line things up – his Fisher Price people and animals, his sippy cups (he usually has a milk and a water one on the go), his cars, pretty much anything.

He has these cars that you pull back on them and then let go and they go across the room. If they then hit something, I always say “Boom”. Well, the other day, it didn’t go far enough but I still said, “Boom!”. He looked at me and said, “No boom!”.

In my garden…

My daughter bought us a package with one of those pre-seeded mats of “an English country garden”. My son in law has dug up the front garden and we’re all set to get it planted. I’m excited because this is exactly the kind of garden I’ve always wanted out there.
