Jam Filled Heart Cookies

These Jam Filled Heart Cookies are the kind of sweet treat that feels right at home on a Valentine’s Day dessert table, tucked into a lunchbox, or served with a warm mug of tea on a quiet afternoon.

With a tender, buttery cookie base and a bright pop of jam in the center, they’re simple, classic, and always charming. They’re also a lovely baking project to make with kids. Rolling the dough and cutting out heart shapes is half the fun.

Whether you’re baking for someone special or just want a little heart-shaped joy in your kitchen, these cookies are a beautiful way to share something homemade.

Bake

Preheat the oven to 180°C / 350°F.

FAQs

What kind of jam works best?

Any smooth jam works well — strawberry, raspberry, apricot, or mixed berry are all great choices.

Can I make the dough ahead of time?

Yes! The dough can be made a day ahead and stored in the fridge, tightly covered.

Why shouldn’t I overbake these cookies?

Overbaking can make them too firm. Pull them out when the edges are just lightly golden for a tender texture.

Can kids help with this recipe?

Absolutely. Rolling dough, cutting shapes, and spooning jam are all kid-friendly steps with supervision.

How should I store these cookies?

Store them in an airtight container at room temperature for 2–3 days, or refrigerate for slightly longer freshness.

There’s something extra special about heart-shaped cookies. They feel thoughtful without being complicated.

These Jam Filled Heart Cookies are a lovely reminder that a simple homemade treat can turn an ordinary day into something memorable.
