Ghost Caramel Apples
Difficulty: Easy
Prep time: 15 minutes
Bake time: N/A
Servings: 5

Ingredients You’ll Need:
5 Granny Smith Apples
1 pkg (5 sheets) caramel wraps
20 oz white chocolate or candy coating
Black writing icing
Step-by-Step Instructions:
Wash and dry the apples.
Carefully unwrap and remove the parchment paper from the caramel sheets.

Gently place one sheet over each apple and leave the bottom edges ruffled.

Insert a popsicle stick or caramel apple stick into the top of the apple.

Melt the white chocolate (or candy coating) in the microwave until smooth. Here’s a guide for melting chocolate if needed: How to Melt Chocolate (from Wilton)

Pour the white chocolate over the apple and rotate to cover the entire caramel sheet.
Place the apples on a wire rack over a piece of parchment in a sheet pan to collect the melted white chocolate for easy clean up. Allow to set about 5-10 minutes.

Pipe the ghost eyes and mouth with the black icing.

Storage: Caramel apples are best enjoyed fresh but can be stored for up to 2 days in the fridge. This may cause the caramel to harden a bit.

FAQs
Can I use other types of apples?
Yes! Granny Smiths are tart and balance the sweetness nicely, but Honeycrisp or Gala work too.
What if I don’t have caramel wraps?
You can melt soft caramels with a splash of cream and dip the apples instead.
How do I prevent the chocolate from pooling at the bottom?
Place the apples on a wire rack with parchment underneath so the extra coating drips away.
How long do caramel apples last?
They’re best the same day, but you can store them in the fridge for up to 2 days. Just note the caramel may harden slightly.

These Ghost Caramel Apples are the perfect mix of spooky and sweet. They are ideal for sharing at Halloween parties or making with the kids as a festive family activity. Once you see how fun (and tasty!) they are, you’ll want to add them to your yearly Halloween traditions.
