One way to use it is to put it in your bath as you soak. Another way to use it is to diffuse the lavender oil into the air. Diffuse it in your bedroom before you go to bed to help you relax and fall asleep more easily. You’ll benefit from its amazing aromatherapy properties.
Similar to lavender, another popular essential oil to make use of when you need to relax is chamomile. You may have had chamomile tea before, which is known to help you relax your mind and body, particularly during your nighttime routine when you need to get ready for bed. In fact, you can find teas that are made with both chamomile and lavender!
Chamomile is naturally a very calming and soothing oil. You can make chamomile tea or use the oils in your diffuser or bath.
Packed with powerful healing properties, this fragrant essential oil is extracted from the geranium plant. If you’re experiencing stress, anxiety, and depression, try this floral-scented essential oil.
Use geranium essential oil in a diffuser to scent a large space. You can also apply it to your skin, but only if you first dilute it with a carrier oil such as sesame oil. Never apply concentrated essential oil of any kind directly to your skin.
Rose essential oil is perfect for relieving stress and tension. You might see this in blends with other relaxing oils like lavender or geranium, but you can definitely use it alone as well.
With rose oils, they are wonderful in a bath with some rose petals, or you can use a cream that contains the oil in it. Rub this on your skin at night or whenever you are feeling stressed. This helps to soothe you, while also improving your skin at the same time.
This beautifully floral-scented essential oil will feel instantly calming to you as you inhale its scent. Diffuse this oil, add it to a soaking bath or dilute it with a carrier oil and use it as a massage oil. Not only does ylang ylang oil help with anxiety and depression, but it’s known to help aid in relaxation and insomnia.
Valerian is known for its sedative qualities and you’ll often find it in bedtime supplements. You can also find teas that contain valerian with lavender and/or chamomile.
Valerian oil has a lovely earthy scent that is calming and relaxing. It’s a great option for use as a massage oil and you can diffuse it or add to a spray bottle of water to use as an air freshener.
