If you like watching Family Feud, you are going to love playing Christmas Family Feud this holiday season. The great thing about this game is that you can even play it online via Zoom or some other group video chat.

Christmas Family Feud
I am not always a huge fan of game shows, but I do have a few favorites. Family Feud is one of them. I started watching way back when Richard Dawson was the host (yes, I am dating myself).
So, this Christmas version is right up my alley. I can’t wait to play it with my family this year!
How to Play the Game
You’ll need two teams (about 5 people per team works best) and one person to act as the host. Each team should choose the order in which they’d like to answer the questions.
The host will begin by calling up the first player on each team. The first one to buzz in gets to answer the question. It’s fine to buzz in before the question has been fully asked.
You might use a buzzer, bell, or other noisemaker to buzz in on questions. If playing the game online, you might use the “raising hand” function or something similar.
For each question, there are a selection of answers provided. These answers are based on surveying 100 people. The most popular answers and the number of people who chose them are given.
For example, if the question is “Name the most common color for mini vans,”, the answers might be White – 32, Red 26, Blue 24, and so on.
Getting Control of the Round
If the person giving the first answer to a question gets the answer with the highest number of responses, their team gets to choose whether to play or pass this round of answers.
If they don’t get the top answer, the other team gets the chance to provide an answer and potentially “steal” control of this round. Whichever team gets the answer with the highest number of responses at this point gets to choose whether to play or pass.
Answering Questions
Now, the host goes down the row of remaining teammates for the team playing this round. Each person is given 5 seconds to answer. Each answer that matches one “on the board” earns the team points.
If the team provides all the answers on the board before receiving 3 strikes, then they win that round.
An answer that is not on the board or failure to provide an answer gives the team a strike. After three strikes, that team loses the chance to play.
If that happens, the opposing team gets the chance to give an answer. If the opposing team gives an answer that is not on the board, the original team wins. But if the opposing team gives an answer that is on the board, they steal that round from the original team.
Scoring the Game
You can choose to allot points the way they do on the TV show – the team earns the number of points assigned to that answer. The team with the most points after a predetermined number of rounds wins.
Or you can allot one point to the team who wins the entire round. The team winning the most rounds after a predetermined number of rounds wins the whole game.

You need to use something like small post it notes to cover the answers so you can reveal them as you play the game.
