Instructions:
Step 1:
Select colored craft papers and paper bags for this craft. You can also make your own customized paper bags from brown paper or craft papers. Trace and cut out the template patterns from the selected craft papers. The template includes hat, hat-border, ear patterns, nose, head, beard, moustache, eye bases, and shoes. You can measure and cut out the clothes pattern according to the size of the selected bag.
Step 2:
Attach the inner ear cutouts on the main ear cutouts and attach the moustache cutout near the top side of the beard cutout. Attach a thick cardstock piece or foam piece on the backside of the nose cutout; this will lift up the nose from the flat patterns.
Step 3:
Attach the nose right above the moustache, on the beard.
Step 4:
Prepare the clothe pattern and attach the show cutouts along the bottom side of the clothe cutout.
Step 5:
Attach the ear patterns on the hat base, keeping the bottom sides of the ears aligned with the bottom side of the hat.
Step 6:
Attach the hat-border along the bottom side of the hat base.
Step 7:
Attach the beard pattern along the bottom side of the head cutout.
Step 8:
Now, attach the hat pattern along the top side of the head part.
Step 9:
Use a sharpie to fill the eye bases and then attach the eyes on the head part.
Step 10:
Select the paper bag.
Step 11:
Attach the clothes part (lower body part) on either side of the paper bag.
Step 12:
Flatten the bottom part of the paper bag with the front side of the puppet. Attach the head pattern on the flattened bottom side of the bag to complete the gnome puppet.
