Okay, I admit. One of my favorite things about summer is the food. The pasta and potato salads, The grilled meats and veggies. The slurpy sloppy desserts. I love every last bit of it. What I don’t love are the food stains that come along with summertime foods. My family teases me because despite being a grown-up (well, that might be debatable at times), I can’t seem to eat a meal without wearing some of it. That is never truer than in the summer. Barbequed ribs covered in sauce, grilled corn slathered in melting butter, sticky ice pops and ice cream cones dripping down my arm on a hot day. They may be messy but they sure are good!
So, let’s dive into one of my all-time favorite summer meal plans:
Sunday: Beer Can Chicken served with some BBQ sauce on the side for dipping – because you know, we want to make a game out of seeing which one of us will drip that sauce onto our clothing first. (Save the leftover chicken for Tuesday). My mom’s German potato salad. Coleslaw. Grilled/Campfire Banana Boats (ooey and gooey).
Monday: Grilled Cedar Plank Sockeye Salmon with Maple Blueberry Chutney. (Have you ever tried to get out blueberry stains? Yikes!) Rice. Grilled bacon wrapped asparagus.
Don’t throw away that pretty white t-shirt with the blueberry juice stain down the front of it! OxiClean™ White Revive™ will revive your Whites with WOW White Technology™ which maintains whites to help keep them looking like new for longer. OxiClean™ White Revive™ targets tough stains and revives dingy whites when used as a pre-soak. It works by whitening in three powerful ways that won’t damage colours: • Gentle bleaching with “oxygen-based bleach” • Deep cleaning fibers with enzymes and surfactants • Depositing optical brighteners. OxiClean™ White Revive™ can help to get the tough stains out the first time! One of my favourite parts about it? It’s chlorine bleach free – no chlorine smell or risk of chlorine spills on colours.
Tuesday: Chicken Salad in Tortilla Wraps. I like to overstuff these so that every bite is full of flavor. I apparently also then like to watch bits of them fall on my plate and my shirt and figure out how to clean the grease and stains from my clothing. Raw veggies with ranch dip. Fresh fruit salad.
Wednesday: Pulled Pork Sandwiches on Buns. Tortellini Salad. Grilled Mexican Street Corn. (might as well drip both BBQ sauce and butter on my clothes, right?) Mixed berry cobbler on the grill.
Thursday: Butter Burgers (seriously, these things are amazing! They are stuffed with butter. Decadence and messiness all in one.) Oven fries with dipping sauce (I mix mayo with BBQ sauce. Delish!) Broccoli-Cauliflower Salad.
Whew. That was a lot of buttery food. Are there grease marks on your favorite pair of shorts now? The new OxiClean™ Max Force™ Foam Laundry Pre-Treater blasts away even the greasiest of stains the first time with its foaming action. How it works: with added grease dissolving power, OxiClean™ MaxForce™ Foam Laundry Pre-Treater deeply penetrates fibers and dissolves stains. Just pump directly onto the stain and gently rub into fabric. This supercharged foam covers and sticks to the stains! Let stand for five minutes to up to a week depending on the severity of the stain. Wash with detergent in the warmest water the fabric will accept.
Friday: Chili Dogs – Coney Island style loaded with beanless chili, onions, cheese, and coleslaw.
Saturday: Grilled Pork Ribs. Maple Bacon Baked Beans. Bacon Cheddar Macaroni Salad. Peaches and Cream Pie for dessert. (It has fruit in it so it’s healthy, right?)
Baked beans all over my pretty pink sundress! What am I going to do? I’m reaching for OxiClean™ Colour Shield Laundry Stain Remover Powder. By combining tough stain fighters with colour safe brighteners, OxiClean™ Colour Shield Laundry Stain Remover helps keep your colours looking new and radiant longer! Use it in your washing machine before clothes in every load. For stains, pre-soak for best results. It helps to get tough stains out the first time and has been shown to have 50% more brightening power versus leading value detergent alone.
And finally, OxiClean™ MaxForce™ Spray. As you might imagine given my proclivity for dripping food on my clothing, I use this stuff all the time! OxiClean™ MaxForce™ Spray combines five types of stain fighters to remove your toughest dried-in stains, including: Grass, Blood, Grease, Oil, Food stains, Drink stains, Soil and Clay. It’s really easy to use too! Simply remove as much of excess stain as possible. Spray directly onto the spot or stain until saturated. Gently rub into fabric and let stand for five minutes up to a week, depending on the stain and convenience. Wash with detergent in warmest water the fabric will accept.
