Make Your Own White Hot Cocoa Mix

I don’t think I’ve ever met a type of chocolate I didn’t like. Hot, cold, white, milk, dark – I love it all. Well, wait. There is some chocolate I’ve had in the US that has wax added to it. I don’t like that kind. Blech. Anyway, I digress.

Is there anything more comforting in cold weather than curling up under a warm cozy throw and sipping a mug full of hot chocolate? I don’t think so! Having this white hot cocoa mix on hand means that I can have a yummy hot beverage anytime I want this winter. Definitely makes winter much more bearable!

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups powdered milk
  • 1 cup vanilla powdered coffee creamer
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 box vanilla or white chocolate instant pudding mix
  • 1 cup white chocolate chips or grated chocolate

Instructions

  1. PRO TIP: If you're using a white chocolate bar or baker's white chocolate, freeze it for a bit before grating. It makes it so much easier.

  2. Simply mix all ingredients together and store in a covered container.

  3. Use 2 tablespoons per 6 oz. hot water. Adjust according to your taste.

What size box of pudding mix did you use?

Gosh, I’m so sorry. I didn’t realize I hadn’t put that into the recipe card. It’s 113 grams (in Canada) which would be the 4 ounce box in the US. 🙂

If I used hot milk to make would it need the powdered milk? Or would using both make it richer?

Using both definitely makes it richer. You can leave it out though if you want.

If you were to put this in a white chocolate ball, would you leave out the white chocolate in the recipe? Would it make it too rich or even more delicious???

I don’t know for sure (but I’m going to try it and find out!) but being a huge white chocolate fan, I am going to say I bet it would be even more delicious!
