2016, Here We Come!

A New Year’s Eve Prep Guide for the Ultimate Pizzazz

Ok, hands up – who else is really excited for this holiday season? I have to admit, even though I believe in setting goals and regrouping throughout the year (aka, I don’t make resolutions on New Year’s Eve), I still find something magical about that feeling when we move from one year to the next. I know, it’s just an arbitrary date on the calendar but still, there’s something about ringing in a new year that just makes me feel all warm inside.

The countdown to the New Year is on – less than a month to go! So to ensure you’re looking and feeling your best when you take 2016 by storm, here’s an easy-to-follow New Year’s Eve prep guide:

Smile for the Camera

Everyone wants to capture the close of one year and the start of the next – so make it picture perfect. Try the Arm & Hammer™ Spinbrush™ Truly Radiant™ Extra White™ Battery Toothbrush. Pair it with Arm & Hammer™ Truly Radiant™ Rejuvenating Toothpaste for minty fresh breath. Together they strengthen, clean and whiten teeth in just five days – right in time for that New Year’s kiss!

Get your Party Dress On

Whether it’s heading to your favourite clothing store or searching through your closet (or a friend’s) to find the perfect holiday ensemble, make sure whatever you’re wearing makes you feel fabulous. A little confidence boost will help you get your groove on! I’m not generally much of a “sparkly” person but something metallic and maybe some sequins or bling just seems right on the big night. You don’t have to spend a lot on a holiday outfit either. Instead of a dress, I have a shiny silver sequinned tank top that along with a few key pieces of jewelry,  I can mix and match with basic plain pants, jackets, sweaters and skirts to create several pretty holiday looks.

Don’t Forget Your Beauty Emergency Kit

I don’t like to carry a huge purse with me but there are a few key items that will fit into clutch and serve me well for looking party ready all night long. Having people over to your house? It’s a nice touch to put a little basket of these emergency items in your bathroom with a note inviting people to help themselves if they need it. My kit includes: lip gloss (I use an amazing lipstick that doesn’t need touching up all day long but still, my lips dry out – obviously I wouldn’t put this item in a guest basket!), Batiste dry shampoo (perfect for when your hair is getting kind of limp and flat looking – this adds some volume back in), those little individual flossing/toothpicks (so uncomfortable having a piece of food stuck in your teeth all night), some of those breath freshening strips or mints or gum, a tube of hand cream (my hands get so dry this time of year and I want to be sure they are smooth and soft with all the hugging, handshaking, and high-fiving that goes on at this time of year), some hand wipes, and a pair of those fold up ballerina flats so I can dance the night away.

Feed your Appetite

If you’re hosting a party, make sure you have enough appetizers to last throughout the night. Buy enough beverages and mix it up with a few sliders – delicious food goes a long way! Tip: provide food and drinks sporadically throughout the night rather than all at once, so it lasts.

Here are some suggestions for you:
