What Is a S’mores Latte?
A S’mores Latte takes the three classic flavors of a s’more — chocolate, marshmallow, and graham cracker — and combines them with espresso and steamed milk.
The result is creamy, chocolatey, and sweet, with just enough coffee flavor to keep it firmly in latte territory.
You don’t need an espresso machine, either. Strong brewed coffee works just fine.

Ingredients
- 1 shot espresso or 1/2 cup strong brewed coffee
- 2 tablespoons s’mores syrup
- 1 cup milk or non-dairy alternative
- 1-2 tablespoons chocolate syrup
- 2 tablespoons graham cracker crumbs, plus more for garnish
- Mini marshmallows, for garnish

How to Make a S’mores Latte

Prepare the Mug
Spread the graham cracker crumbs on a small plate.
Pour a little of the chocolate syrup onto a second plate or shallow dish. Dip the rim of your mug into the chocolate syrup and then into the graham cracker crumbs, gently pressing to help them stick.
Heat and Froth the Milk
Heat the milk in a small saucepan over medium-low heat until warm but not boiling.
Froth the warm milk with a handheld milk frother, or heat and froth it using your preferred milk frother.

Add the Coffee
Brew one shot of espresso or prepare 1/2 cup of strong coffee.
Pour it into your prepared mug and stir in the s’mores syrup.

Add the Milk
Pour the warm, frothed milk over the coffee mixture. Stir gently to combine while keeping some of that lovely foam on top.

Add the S’mores Toppings
Top your latte with mini marshmallows and an extra sprinkle of graham cracker crumbs.
For even more campfire flavor, lightly toast the marshmallows with a kitchen torch before serving. Be sure to use a heat-safe mug and follow the torch manufacturer’s safety instructions.
Serve right away and enjoy!

What Is S’mores Syrup?
S’mores coffee syrup is a flavored syrup that combines the familiar tastes of chocolate, marshmallow, and graham cracker.
You can find s’mores-flavored coffee syrups online and sometimes in the coffee section of grocery or specialty stores.
Can’t find it? You can still make a delicious version of this latte. Try combining chocolate syrup with marshmallow or toasted marshmallow coffee syrup. If you don’t have marshmallow syrup, a little vanilla syrup can work in a pinch. It won’t have quite the same campfire flavor, but it will still be delicious.
No Espresso Machine? No Problem!
You definitely don’t need special coffee equipment for this recipe.
Make 1/2 cup of your favorite coffee a little stronger than usual and use it in place of the espresso. A French press, pour-over, or regular drip coffee maker will all work.
You can even use instant coffee. Just make it stronger than you normally would so the coffee flavor doesn’t disappear beneath the milk and s’mores flavors.

How to Froth Milk Without a Frother
No milk frother? You have a few options.
Pour warmed milk into a jar with a tight-fitting lid, filling it no more than halfway. Secure the lid and shake vigorously until frothy. Be careful when handling hot milk.
You can also whisk warm milk vigorously by hand or use an immersion blender in a tall container.
The foam might not be quite as thick as coffee-shop foam, but your latte will still taste great.

Easy Variations
Make it extra chocolatey: Drizzle a little chocolate syrup over the marshmallows before serving.
Try toasted marshmallow syrup: Use toasted marshmallow syrup along with chocolate syrup for an especially cozy campfire flavor.
Make it dairy-free: Use your favorite non-dairy milk. Oat milk is particularly good in lattes because of its naturally creamy texture.
Turn it into an iced s’mores latte: Let the espresso or coffee cool, combine it with the syrup and cold milk, and pour over ice. Add the graham cracker rim and marshmallow garnish just before serving.
Skip the fancy rim: The chocolate-and-graham-cracker rim is fun, but completely optional. Sprinkle graham cracker crumbs over the top instead when you want your latte ASAP.

Tips for the Best S’mores Latte
Use strong coffee if you’re substituting brewed coffee for espresso. The chocolate, marshmallow, and milk can overwhelm coffee that’s brewed too weakly.
Don’t boil the milk. You want it steaming and warm rather than bubbling.
Add the graham cracker rim before pouring anything into your mug. It’s much easier to dip an empty mug!
And if you’re toasting the marshmallows, watch them closely. They can go from perfectly golden to burned very quickly.
