Santa Rice Krispie Treats

Difficulty: Easy

Prep time: 10 minutes

Bake time: N/A

Servings: 16 Rice Krispies

Ingredients:

16 Rice Krispie treats, unwrapped (or make your own)

½ c red candy melts

½ c white chocolate chips or candy melts

¼ c shredded coconut

½ c mini marshmallows

¼ c red sanding sugar

1 T. red cinnamon candies or M&M’s (about 16)

¼ c candy eye balls (about 32)

Directions:

Line your work space with parchment.

Unwrap the Rice Krispie treats and lay out on your work surface.

Melt the white candy melts in a microwave safe bowl.  Heat in 15-30 second increments and stir well between each interval until smooth.

Dip the bottom ¼-⅓ of each Rice Krispie in the melted white chocolate.  Scrape the excess back into the bowl and set back on the parchment.

Immediately sprinkle some shredded coconut over the white to create the beard.  Allow to set.

Transfer the remaining melted white chocolate to a piping bag or ziploc, set aside.

Melt the red candy melts in a microwave safe bowl.  Heat in 15-30 second increments and stir well between each interval until smooth.

Dip the top ¼-⅓ of each Rice Krispie in the red candy melts.  Scrape the excess back into the bowl and set back on the parchment.

Place your mini marshmallows along the edge of the red line to create the fur of the hat.  Then sprinkle with a pinch (or more) of the red sanding sugar.

Cut a small hole in the end of the white chocolate piping bag (you can always cut it bigger if needed but start smaller than you think).

Pipe a small dot on each eye ball candy and set into place on each Rice Krispie treat.

Finally pipe a small dot on a red candy and place the nose onto the Rice Krispie.

Allow to set for the chocolate to reharden.

Storage: Store the decorated Rice Krispies in an airtight container for up to 3 weeks.
