It’s Mardi Gras – or Shrove Tuesday, or as it’s known around my house, Pancake Tuesday! These Pancake Recipes for Shrove Tuesday will give you all kinds of ideas for kicking things up a notch this year.
This is the day when traditionally all of the fats and sugary foods are used up prior to the start of Lent during which time people fasted from rich foods.
These days few people adhere to such strict rules of fasting but it’s still fun to indulge in Pancake Tuesday, isn’t it? Of course, we really go all out and have eggs and bacon along with our pancakes because hey, if you’re going to splurge, you might as well splurge, am I right?
Looking for a change of pace from syrup? These pancake toppings sound amazing!

We like to make ours in fun shapes either by squirting out the batter in a dispenser bottle or by cutting out shapes with cookie cutters. We also have a few fun pancake shape rings. It’s a simple way to add a little fun to a simple meal!
