Melon Fruit Cups FAQs

Can I make these fruit cups ahead of time?

Yes! You can prep the fruit and assemble the skewers a few hours in advance. Just cover them and store in the fridge until ready to serve. Add the lemon balm or other fresh herbs right before serving for the best appearance and flavor.

What herbs can I use instead of lemon balm?

Mint is a wonderful substitute and adds a refreshing touch. Basil also pairs nicely with melon, especially for a slightly more sophisticated twist.

Do I have to use skewers?

Not at all! You can simply layer the cubed fruit directly in the cups or use toothpicks for bite-sized fun. The skewers just add a bit of visual interest and make the cups feel more festive.

What kind of cups should I use?

Clear plastic or glass cups work well so the colorful layers show through. Small mason jars, party cups, or even mini dessert glasses are great options depending on the occasion.

Can I use other fruits?

Absolutely! Try adding grapes, strawberries, blueberries, or pineapple for more variety. Just be mindful of colors and textures that complement the melons.

How many people does this recipe serve?

The base recipe makes 3 fruit cups, but it’s easy to double or triple for a crowd. Just adjust the quantities of fruit and skewers as needed.
