These DIY paper tulips are so easy to make. And they’re a great way to bring some spring cheer inside your home. You can create a bouquet of these simple paper tulips or tape them to a window for a display that you and your neighbors can all enjoy.
This is a great craft project for kids. There are a few steps you might need to help with for younger children, but once they’re shown the steps, older kids will be whipping up bunches of these flowers in no time.

Paper straws – green if you can find them. If not, you can use plain white straws and color them with a marker, wrap with green paper, or wrap with green washi or floral tape.
Glue – Glue guns allow you to glue this together quickly without waiting much time at all for drying. However, with younger kids, you may prefer to use kids’ craft/school glue or a glue stick. You could even use glue dots but I find that some young children find them hard to use.
Construction or scrapbooking paper in assorted colors for the flowers – If you use cardstock, it needs to be a thin one that will fold well.
Instructions:
For each tulip, you need to cut 3 rectangles from the paper. These will form the petals of the flower. We made ours about 1.5 by 2.25 inches but you don’t really have to be precise about these. You just want each of the 3 rectangles for the tulip to be the same size.
Fold each of the rectangles in half lengthwise.
Cut these folded rectangles into half-heart shapes.
Glue two of the folded hearts onto the third one referring to the photo above for placement.
Now, glue the flower onto the stem (straw). If you’re using anything but the glue gun, you will need to hold this for a bit of time to help it begin to adhere before placing it aside to dry completely.
Repeat these steps to make as many flowers as you’d like for your bouquet.
