The holiday season always brings a special kind of magic, doesn’t it? For me, that magic often unfolds with a cozy crochet hook in hand, a steaming cup of cocoa nearby, and twinkling lights casting a gentle glow. It brings back fond memories of crocheting with my grandmother when I was young.
Creating handmade ornaments has become one of my cherished traditions, and this year, I’m excited to share a delightful project with you: the Crochet Star Ornament. It’s a simple yet charming addition to your festive decor, perfect for adorning your tree, embellishing gifts, or sharing as heartfelt tokens of love.

This adorable crochet star ornament is a fun way to decorate your Christmas tree or to use as a gift topper. It’s a simple crocheting project for an advanced beginner and is a great way to use up leftover yarn from other projects.
You could easily make several of these in one day, making them ideal for gift-giving. Once you’ve given it a try with regular yarn, try some glitter or metallic yarn.

Insert the hook through the same space again, yarn over, and pull through one more time. You will see the 6 loops in your hook.

Repeat the pattern in each next chain 2 space (1 HDC, 2 DC, 1 TC, Ch 3, 1 TC, 2 DC, 1 HDC), then CH 2 and 1 SC the next chain 2 space. Secure the end with a slip stitch through the adjacent top chain stitch.
