Who doesn’t love some water play on a hot summer day? Of course, swimming is always fun but sometimes, you just don’t have access to a pool. Or, you might have a child like mine – before the age of about 5, she was kind of iffy about being in water – let me tell you, that made bath-time quite the chore! So, I was always looking for other water activities for her so that a) she could cool off in the summer heat and b) to help slowly acclimate her to being more comfortable with water. Here’s a roundup of 10+ great water play ideas:
Painting with Water from The Frugal Girls – a simple but fun idea!
Giant outdoor water blob from Play at Home Mom – wish I had thought of this when my daughter was little! Looks like such fun!
There are lots of great DIY boat ideas out there but I really love these mini sail boats from Made to be a Momma. Float them in your bathtub, kiddie pool, or even a puddle!
How about combining some fun with a little learning with this water balloon Phonics activity from Mess for Less?
Fun a Day has this awesome idea for creating a portable water wall sure to provide hours of fun!
I just adore these DIY Kiddie Car Washes like this one from Mom Endeavors! Ride through on a bike, trike, or toy vehicle or even just run through.
