Thanksgiving Turkey Mask

Filed Under: CELEBRATE, CREATE, Kids' Crafts, paper art, Thanksgiving

How cute is this Thanksgiving turkey mask? It’s easy to make too, especially with our provided PDF template. This is a perfect craft to do with groups like elementary school classes or Scout/Guide groups.

The materials are fairly minimal and inexpensive too. You could even use plain paper and have the kids paint the colors needed if you prefer. To wear the mask, add elastic, strings, or glue/tape onto a skewer.

Supplies:

  1. Colorful Cardstock Paper (you can substitute construction paper but need a fairly thick one to ensure that it will hold up and that the feathers will stand and not flop down)
  2. Pencil.
  3. Scissors.
  4. Glue.
  5. Ruler.
  6. Brown Sharpie.

Instructions:

Step 1:

To make the turkey mask tThanksgiving craft, first you’ll need to select different shades of browns, reds, oranges and yellow colored cardstock.

Step 2:

Use the PDF template to cut out the mask pattern out of brown cardstock.

Step 3:

Use a brown coloured Sharpie to draw outlines on the mask pattern.

Step 4:

Cut out the feather shapes out of red, yellow and orange cardstock papers.

Step 5:

First, glue the red large feather on the top middle part of the mask pattern.

Step 6:

Then, glue two orange feathers on two sides of the red feather.

Step 7:

Then, glue the rest of the feathers one by one.

Step 8:

Finally, glue the wattle and beak on the bottom middle part of the mask to finish making your turkey mask craft.
