simple delicious valentine desserts

Valentine’s Day is such a fun day! Oh I know, there are the naysayers out there who think it’s a commercialized waste of time because we can tell our loved ones that we love them any day of the year, blah blah blah. Yes we could. No we shouldn’t need reminders to say I love you. But sometimes we do. Sometimes we get so busy that we forget to take the time to make a moment special. As is the philosophy here at Creative Cynchronicity, you don’t need a prescribed holiday or a bunch of money or a lot of time to make something special. So these recipes for are for simple delicious Valentine desserts but you could use them any time you want to add a little “I love you” to your day.

I love this dessert idea so much that I ran right out and bought the Wilton shot glass mold that is used in it. These Chocolate Shot Glasses from The Bewitchin’ Kitchen take about 2 minutes in the microwave and under an hour in the fridge to create. But look at the spectacular results! Fill them with pudding, cheesecake filling, whipped cream – whatever you’d prefer!

Affogato is a delicious dessert made with ice cream, espresso or strong brewed coffee, chocolate and nuts. This recipe from Bunnys Warm Oven looks so elegant but so easy to make.

Panna Cotta is one of my daughter’s favourites. Of course, since we live in the same house, she’s going to have to add the strawberries while I’m away, but it looks really worth it. An Italian in the Kitchen’s recipe for Chocolate Panna Cotta has that simple luxury about it that I know she’ll love.

With only 3 ingredients, these chocolate heart pretzels from Dancing Through the Rain would not only be a treat that the kids would love to eat, it would be perfect for them to help make too!

Chocolate Covered Heart Shaped Strawberries promo from Walking on Sunshine

Of course, chocolate covered strawberries are a classic but when turned into a heart shape, they are simply perfect for Valentine’s Day! Check out this yummy recipe from Walking on Sunshine Recipes is a must try for the strawberry lovers out there!

Strawberry-Mousse-Dome-with-Pastry-Cream-Insert-and-Strawberry-Coulis

Ahhh, all of these strawberry recipes are killing me! (I’m sadly allergic. Please, those of you who love strawberries, have an extra serving for me won’t you?). I’m wondering if I could make this one with raspberries because it looks AMAZING! This simple and easy recipe from Veena Azmanov makes a fresh, light and luscious strawberry mousse with a pastry cream insert, served on a hazelnut crust, topped with a dash of strawberry coulis. Pardon the drool.

Molten-Chocolate-Lava-Cake-Recipe-Valentines-Dessert-For-Two-9309

What is it about molten cakes that just seem like a perfect dessert for a romantic Valentine’s Day dinner? All I know is they are so delicious and seem so decadent to eat but are so much easier than you might imagine. Try this recipe from A Side of Sweet.

So, which recipe catches your fancy? I’m sure whichever one you choose, the loved ones you share it with will be delighted!
