Santa’s Reindeer Candy Treats

Filed Under: Christmas, CELEBRATE, COOK, Holiday recipes

Ho ho ho! These are the cutest little reindeer candy treats ever! I love making fun treats to give to family and friends over the holidays and these sure fit the bill. They make perfect table favors too – they’d look adorable at each person’s place for Christmas dinner.

They’re simple to make and it’s really fun to watch them come together. I make them assembly line fashion so I can create a bunch of Santa’s reindeer treats quickly. Want to make it even easier? I ordered the supplies online! Delivered right to my door and I was all set to put these together.

Instructions:

* It’s best to work on a non-slip mat or parchment paper so your chocolate won’t stick.

  • To make your reindeer legs, turn a Swiss Roll upside down and dip the end of pretzel sticks in melted candy and insert into Swiss roll slightly.  * Be sure all four pretzels are equal in length after they are inserted in the Swiss Roll to ensure that the reindeer will stand up.
  • Dip the end of two mini candy canes in melted chocolate – place the candy canes together (touching) to form antlers – immediately place a peanut butter cup (bottom side up) on the melted candy.
  • Use melted chocolate to gently attach candy eyeballs and M&M nose.
  • Use melted chocolate to attach the head (hold until set) and tail.

My friend Laura over at Little Big House Alaska was inspired by these reindeer. She has made the cutest mini Buche de Noel treats also using Swiss Rolls! Aren’t they adorable?
