This Dollar Store Easter Bunny Basket is the cutest little bunny ever! We made it quickly, easily, and inexpensively with supplies from our local dollar store and a plain recycled basket.

Make several and gift them to a teacher, friend, or neighbor or use them as gift baskets for your family’s Easter dinner. They are so quick and easy to make and the kids will love to help!

DOLLAR STORE EASTER BUNNY BASKET

Materials needed:

  • Round Basket – Recycled (don’t have one on hand? Check your local dollar store or thrift store)
  • Craft Felt – Cashmere Tan, Baby Pink
  • Felt Flowers with Leaves – Dollar Store
  • Permanent Marker – Dollar Store
  • Wire, Black – 22 Gauge
  • Scissors
  • Ruler
  • Wire Cutters
  • Glue Gun and Glue Sticks – Dollar Store
  • BASKET RABBIT PATTERNS

Instructions:

STEP ONE

Gather all supplies. Download and print the BASKET RABBIT PATTERNS. Cut out patterns with scissors. Using a permanent marker, trace two outer ears on cashmere tan craft felt and two inner ears on baby pink craft felt. Cut out felt shapes with scissors. You could also use colored cardstock or craft foam for this project.

PRO TIP: Cut inside the traced line, so that your finished project looks neat and clean.

STEP TWO

Attach the pink inner ear felt pieces to the center of the cashmere tan outer ear felt pieces with a glue gun and glue sticks. Attach the assembled ears to the front left and right of the top edge of the basket with a glue gun and glue sticks.

You can use liquid craft glue for this project, but you will have to wait for it to dry.

STEP THREE

Using a permanent marker, trace one nose shape on baby pink craft felt. Cut out felt shape with scissors.

STEP FOUR

Attach the center felt flower to the top edge of the basket with a glue gun and glue sticks. Layer in the felt leaves on either side.

Glue a felt flower to the right-hand side and left-hand side of the center flower. Trim the felt leaves and secure them under the petals of the felt flowers with a glue gun and glue sticks.

STEP FIVE

Measure three 6” long pieces of black wire and cut them with wire cutters.

Flip the nose over and attach the wires in a crisscross pattern with a glue gun and glue sticks.

STEP SIX

To finish the bunny, attach the pink felt nose and whiskers with a glue gun and glue sticks, using the photo for placement.

And here is Mr. Rabbit ready for his close-up!
