Craft Stick Valentine Arrows

Filed Under: Valentine's Day, CELEBRATE, CREATE, Dollar Store Crafts

How cute are these craft stick Valentine arrows? They’re a fun idea for kids to make for Valentine’s Day. Best of all, they are quick and easy to make using inexpensive supplies from the dollar store.

You can make these bright and colorful Valentine crafts in just about half an hour. They make sweet gifts and are perfect for making with large groups such as in classrooms or with Scouting groups. You could even make these in Sunday School and add Scripture verses to them.

Example of a Scripture verse you can use: “For the arrows of the Almighty are within me” (Job 6:4)

DOLLAR STORE CRAFT STICK VALENTINE ARROWS KIDS CRAFT

Materials:

  • Craft Sticks, Jumbo
  • Felt Heart Stickers
  • Acrylic Craft Paint – White, Red, Pink
  • Paintbrush
  • Adhesive Runner or Glue Stick
  • Scissors
  • VALENTINE ARROW PRINTABLE

Instructions:

STEP ONE

Gather all supplies. Basecoat the jumbo craft sticks with white, red, and pink acrylic craft paint. Let dry, and apply a second coat, if necessary. Use washable markers, crayon, or even colored pencil to color the jumbo craft sticks.

STEP TWO

Lay out two large and one medium white felt heart stickers on your work surface. Layer two medium and one small pink felt heart stickers on top. Peel back the liner paper and attach the pink hearts to the white hearts.

Repeat with pink and red hearts, then red and white hearts. Mix and match the colors to create you very own unique combinations.

STEP THREE

Peel the liner paper from the first large, layered heart and attach to the end of the jumbo craft stick. Repeat with the second large, layered heart, overlapping the pointed end.

Peel the liner paper from the medium layered heart and attach to the opposite end of the jumbo craft stick. If working with young kids, an adult will have to assist in the peeling of the sticker.

STEP FOUR

Flip the arrow over on your work surface. Attach two large and one medium felt hearts to the back, covering the sticker adhesive. This gives your project a clean finish.

STEP FIVE

Download and print the Valentine Arrow Printable. Cut out the individual sayings with scissors. Attach to the arrow using an adhesive runner or glue stick. You can also create your own sayings and write them directly onto the arrows with washable markers.
