Clay Halloween Charms
List of Supplies:
- Foam clay/Air dry clay
- Clay sculpting tools.
Instructions:
Step 1:
Begin with the clay candy corn. For this, you will need white, orange, and yellow clay. Roll each of them into a ball.
Step 2:
Take the white ball of clay and gently pinch it from three sides to form a triangle. For the orange and yellow parts, roll them into a sausage shape. The yellow one has to be a bit longer than orange in length so that we can give the candy corn its classic shape.
Step 3:
Attach all parts. The order is respectively white, orange, and yellow.
Step 4:
Take a ball of orange clay and slightly squeeze it, resembling an ellipse. Then flatten it by pressing it against a smooth hard surface.
Step 5:
Carve out the lines on the pumpkin base using a clay knife tool.
Step 6:
Take some brown clay to make the stem. First, make a tear-drop shape and then flatten the wider part. You’ll also have to poke a hole in the pumpkin where we’ll be placing the stem.
Step 7:
Make two triangles using black clay for the eyes. Place the eyes and the stem on the pumpkin.
Step 8:
For the nose, make another triangle but slightly smaller and elongated compared to the eyes and place them on the pumpkin.
Step 9:
Take some black clay for the mouth and give it a boomerang shape.
Step 10:
Cut out a small piece using the knife tool.
Step 11:
Place the mouth on the pumpkin.
Step 12:
Now we’ll make the ghost. For this, take some white clay and roll it into an oval shape.
Step 13:
Flatten the oval by pressing it against a smooth hard surface.
Step 14:
Press the wide part of the oval to make it wider. After getting it to a preferable size, cut out a scallop border using either a knife tool or cookie cutter.
Step 15:
Take some black and pink clay for the details. Make two tiny black balls of clay then flatten them. Similarly, make the blush and adjust if needed. Place them all on the main body.
Step 16:
For the final touch, add a white dot of clay on each eye to make them look sparkly. And draw a smile using a small tip sharpie after the clay dries up. Now your clay ghost charms are all done.
Once you have made these three charms, you can easily branch out into making others, such as the witch’s hat using the same design principles.
