Bacon Wrapped Asparagus
This recipe is based on my bacon wrapped green beans recipe.
Ingredients:
One bunch of asparagus
1/2 lb. bacon
1/2 cup butter
About 1/4 cup brown sugar (you can slightly increase or decrease if desired)
1/4 tsp garlic (powder or puree)
1/4 tsp soy sauce
Instructions:
Divide the bunch of asparagus into bundles of 3-4 stalks each.
Wrap each bundle in a piece of bacon. I find the bacon cooks more thoroughly if it doesn’t overlap on itself.
Place the bundles on a baking sheet or in a roasting pan. I find it best to line it with non-stick aluminum foil or to spray it with non-stick cooking spray.
In a saucepan, simply mix together butter, brown sugar, garlic, and soy sauce in a saucepan over low to medium heat.
Once melted, brush this mixture over each bundle until each one is coated with the glaze.
Place in a 400 degree F oven for 20-25 minutes, until the asparagus and bacon are cooked.
