My lips get so dry and flaky in the winter. Between the harsh winds outside and the heated air inside, they just don’t have a chance. This aloe vera lip scrub is something I can whip up at home to help keep my lips soft and smooth.
Make this for yourself or to give as a gift. It’s quick and easy to make and would be greatly appreciated. You could give it alone or add it to a basket with other home spa supplies.

Use a fork to mush up the gel and break it apart.
Dip a toothpick into food coloring and mix it around the coconut oil.
Add all 3 ingredients to a mixing bowl.
Stir until combined and is the consistency of very wet sand.
Add mixture into a container with a tight-fitting lid.
To use: Using clean hands, wet lips and take out a nickel size amount of scrub and add a drop or two of water. Gently rub mixture on lips in a circular motion for 30 seconds. Wipe off with a warm washcloth.
TIPS AND TRICKS:
- Keep in the fridge for a cooling effect. Love this on a hot summer day!
- Using a fork may leave the aloe too chunky. Try using a mesh sieve to and push with the back of a spoon. Your best bet would be to use a blender or emersion blender to mix really well into a liquid. This would be best achieved making a large batch of aloe.
- Make a large batch and give as gifts.
- Add a drop of your favorite essential oil.
