meatless meals ideas recipes

Tomorrow is Ash Wednesday and two days later will be the first “meatless” Friday of the Lenten season. If you’re like me, you’re always looking for more ideas for these meals. So, to help get you ready for it, let me offer this roundup.

You will love these recipes all year round – not just for Lent! Whether you have designated one day a week as a meat-free day or you’ve gone full-time vegetarian, add these meatless meals to your menu plan. You’ll be happy you did!

Mouthwatering Meatless Meals to Satisfy the Whole Family

It’s that time of year again. Lent has begun and I am back to observing meat-free Fridays. Do you follow this tradition?

The rules in the Catholic church have become a little more lenient about things like this but since I can’t take part in any fasting (for medical reasons), I like to take part in the no meat on Fridays tradition.

It is just a great reminder for me to focus on what’s important. Every time I make that conscious decision to make and eat meatless meals during Lent, I think of Jesus.

Not only that, but adding more plant-based meals is a healthy approach to eating all year long!

These meatless meals pass the test even with my picky eaters.

First, a few personal favourites:

Pierogi Casserole (leave out the bacon or use a vegan substitute instead)

Neapolitan Pasta Bake (an all-time family favourite!)

Veggie Frittata (easily customized to your preferences)

Meatless meals from around the internet –

Man oh man, these sound so good and I’ll be adding them to my next menu plans!

Okay well so I am trying to understand Lent as a concept actually because the kids are both going to Catholic high school and one totally understands all of the religious traditions, customs at this point – grade 11 and the youngest will be heading there for grade 9 next year and neither one of us really knows much about Lent etc. So meatless Fridays sounds doable actually. That’s one day a week. I love my meat so I would struggle with meatless if it were more than that.

Just wanted to let you know that your link for “Tex Mex Vegetarian Twice Baked Potatoes – Feeding Big” is broken; it takes you to an ad for a casino game? I’m looking forward to trying some of the other delicious recipes you’ve listed!
