Maintaining Quality of Life Even with Osteoarthritis

Tylenol Disclosure Banner FINALToday was supposed to be an errand day. I have a list as long as my arm of things that I need to take care of and was even going to treat myself to lunch at my favourite little bistro. I woke up at 4 am and knew that it must be awfully cold outside – I could feel it in my bones. My grandma used to say that to me and now I know just what she meant by it.

Every single bone and joint in my body ached. Maybe that’s a bit of an exaggeration but it sure feels close to the truth. It took me half an hour just to be able to sit up in bed. As soon as I could, I reached out for the bottles of Tylenol Arthritis ® and water that I keep at all times on my bedside table. I took 2 of the pills and laid back down, waiting for them to take effect. As I began to feel relief, I found myself able to find a comfortable position and was actually able to go back to sleep for a while.

Arthritis RevisedI developed osteoarthritis at an earlier age than most due to the injuries I suffered in a car accident. Being a busy blogger, a crafter, a cook, and someone who loves to dance, having early onset osteoarthritis definitely affects my quality of life. There are some mornings where I have to take the Tylenol Arthritis ® and give it time to work before I can even manage to get out of bed. The pain can be crippling and I’m unable to even stand up or walk at times without the relief I get from the medication. Quality of sleep, going on social outings or attending family functions, even little things like being able to tie my shoes, push a grocery cart, and wash my hair are greatly affected by my arthritis.

I’ve done a lot of research and made many changes to my life. I pace myself, try to eat healthier, do physiotherapy exercises daily, and incorporate suggestions from my occupational therapist into my home (things such as changing the way I do chores or making use of aids such as special gloves to minimize the strain on my joints). I’ve tried out a variety of medications, prescription and over the counter and Tylenol Arthritis ® has proven to be a good choice for me.

Some other medications I tried were so hard on my stomach that I needed additional medications to deal with my stomach issues as well. I don’t have that same problem with Tylenol Arthritis ®. With a dog and two cats to take care of, a business to run, and the hobbies and interests that I want to maintain, I don’t have time to wait around for hours for a medication to take effect so that I can move again. I found that with some of the other drugs I tried they would take 2-3 hours before I’d feel relief and then that relief was often quite short-lived but Tylenol Arthritis ®.works quickly for me and lasts much longer – up to 8 hours. When I was investigating my medication options, I was also happy to learn that Tylenol Arthritis ®.doesn’t negatively impact kidney function the way many other pain medications can.

Do you or someone you know suffer from arthritis? I highly recommend that you learn all you can about what you can do to deal with the symptoms and find relief so that you can maintain your quality of life. A good place to start is here at the #TylenolArthritis website. You might just find it works well for you too!

Commitments have pulled my family in countless directions. Between work/elementary school/church/home there has been little time to *smell the roses*. I would like to take my husband and son out to Boston Pizza for a meal out and give us all a chance to catch up on our days – plus no dishes. Bonus for Mom/Wife. Ty
