Although there are quite a few steps to making them, these DIY paper marigolds are quite easy to put together. Use several shades of yellow and orange to add interest to the display.
These are beautiful to use as decorations on a gift package, wreath, or many other craft projects. You could even go non-traditional with the colors and use them to match a party theme.

DIY Paper Marigolds
List of Supplies
- Colored craft papers
- A pair of scissors
- Craft glue
- Pencil – to trace the template
- Template

Instructions:

Step 1:
Use light or medium light colored craft papers for this craft. Select a color of your choice and prepare 8 square sheets (8cm x8cm) of the same size to complete 1 flower pattern. Take any one of the square sheets.

Step 2:
Fold the square sheet in half, diagonally.

Step 3:
Fold it in half again.

Step 4:
Fold it in half for the 3rd time.

Step 5:
Use a pencil to trace the petal shape on the folded sheet using the provided template; keeping the center of the petal towards the center and the outer edge facing the open ends of the folded sheet.

Step 6:
Use a pair of sharp scissors to cut out the petal shape from the folded sheet.

Step 7:
Unfold all 3 half folds. We have a petal base ready.

Step 8:
Cut 1 cm slits between every 2 petal tips.

Step 9:
Use a thin, round object to curl each tip.

Step 10:
One by one curl all the tips of a petal base.

Step 11:
Similarly, prepare the rest of the petal bases (7 more).

Step 12:
Take any one of the curled petal bases and apply a drop of glue in the center of it.

Step 13:
Place another curled petal base on top it and press its center against the glued center.

Step 14:
Apply glue in the center of the top base to join the next base on top of it.

Step 15:
Continue to glue curled petals bases on top of each other.

Step 16:
One by one glue all 8 petal bases together.

Step 17:
Trace and cut out the leaf patterns from green colored craft paper and glue it with the papercraft marigold.
