7 Self Care Ideas For Fall

I love fall but it also signals the beginning of the holiday season, and often, a more hectic schedule to juggle. Keeping yourself centered and calm during this busy time of year can be challenging but it’s not impossible. And, it’s essential! Here are a few self care ideas for fall that you’re going to love!

7 Self Care Ideas For Fall

Enjoy Nature

Nature really puts on a brilliant display this time of year to signal the change of seasons. Make time to go for a walk, a hike, or even a drive and observe nature’s beauty. Spend time outside, away from distractions and electronics and just “be.”

Make A Slow Cooker Meal

If you are a frequent reader, you will seeing me talk about slow cookers a lot but it’s for good reason. Fall is a great time to indulge in cozy meals.

Pulling out your crockpot is a great way to let something slow cook while you’re away at work or out for the day. When you return, you’ll be met with the delicious smell of a home-cooked meal, the perfect finish to a chilly autumn day.

Sleep

Did you know that people actually sleep better in a slightly colder room? Take the opportunity to sleep in and relax on those chilly fall weekend mornings. If your schedule doesn’t permit you to sleep in, make a point of going to bed earlier to log more sleep time. Your body will thank you.

Fall Scents

Indulge in the enticing scents of fall. You could light candles in your favorite fall scent, such as apple, pumpkin, cinnamon, or even fall outdoor woodsy scents. Maybe you like essentials oils instead; diffuse some healing oils into the air and relax.

Make A Cozy Beverage

If you’re a pumpkin spice girl, then make a homemade pumpkin drink. Maybe apple cider is more to your taste, or maybe you love to brew your own tea with tea leaves. Take the time to make your beverage and enjoy it while spending some quiet time in reflection.

Read A Book

Is there a book that’s been on your to-do reading list? Take the time to enjoy the written word by spending quiet time getting lost in the story. Pick a favorite spot, whether in your house or out in nature and let the story carry you away.

Start A Gratitude Journal

Practicing gratitude is a great way to slow down and reflect on your everyday life. Spend time writing in your journal. This simple act will keep you in a positive frame of mind and will serve as a reminder of all that you have to be thankful for.

Making time for self-care is important, especially during the holidays. Be willing to stop, spend time alone focusing on yourself and your needs in order to stay grounded this season. Your friends and family will appreciate it too!
