Mrs Claus Cookies

Mrs. Claus Cookies are adorable holiday treats made with a tender shortbread-style dough and decorated with melted white chocolate. The base is shaped using a snowman cookie cutter, then decorated to resemble Mrs. Claus with chocolate “hair,” glasses, and festive sprinkles. The dough comes together quickly with simple ingredients, and the decorating is kid-friendly (except maybe the tiny glasses!). Perfect for Christmas cookie trays, gifting, and holiday baking fun.

Ingredients

  • 2 oz. butter softened
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 tbsp powdered sugar
  • 1 cup flour
  • 2 tbsp 10–15% cream
  • 1/2 cup white chocolate
  • Assorted sprinkles and chocolate chips
  • Yellow and red food colouring

Instructions

Prepare the Dough

  1. Combine the softened butter with powdered sugar and vanilla. Stir in the cream. Add the flour and gently knead until you have a soft, slightly sticky dough.

Shape the Cookies

  1. Divide the dough into four equal portions. Roll each portion into a 1/4-inch thick layer.
  2. Use a snowman cookie cutter to create the base shape. Trim the top to resemble Mrs. Claus’s hat, and refine the shape with a round cutter.
  3. Re-roll any scraps to make small snowflake shapes for extra decorative cookies.
  4. Chill everything for 1 hour.

Bake

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F. Bake until the edges begin to turn golden. Transfer to a rack to cool completely.

Decorate

  1. Melt the white chocolate in a double boiler. Tint portions red and yellow.
  2. Hat: Pipe the red outline and fill in with red chocolate.
  3. Hair & Face: Use white chocolate to create bangs, eyes, and a little heart-shaped mouth (or use valentine-style sprinkles for the mouth).
  4. Details: Add sprinkles to the hat for extra holiday fun.
  5. Glasses: The trickiest part — pipe the tiniest outline using yellow chocolate in a small piping cone with a pinhole-sized tip.
  6. Dip the snowflake cookies in white chocolate and finish with sprinkles.
