This is a sponsored post. All opinions are mine.
I have a confession to make. I never used to make an effort to save money. It just seemed like so much work for so little reward. Then I became self-employed. (The money comes in spurts.) And then I was hit HARD by the travel bug (I blame my trip to Europe for that one). Most of all, being an empty nester, I suddenly realized that I have all this free (childless) time that I can fill doing whatever my little heart desires. And I have a long bucket list yet to complete.
FINDING THOSE DEALS
So now you’ll catch me checking out the sales flyers, pulling out my loyalty cards at the cash register, and looking for deals online. I’ve started to see just how much I can save that way – it really adds up! I saw a lot of my friends talking about the amazing deals they scored from Groupon and soon enough, I started using it too. But I always thought of it as the place to find bargains on travel and restaurants and events. It wasn’t until recently that I heard of Groupon Coupons and realized that I could save even more at my favourite retailers. Boom!
USING GROUPON COUPONS
Finding the deals is super simple. Simply go to the Groupon Coupons site where you can search by category, by store, or even do a local search to see what comes up specifically for your area. The list of stores where coupons were available was extensive. I started out by clicking on the craft supplies category (because, duh, I’m me and I always want to score a deal on craft supplies), then I checked out the pet supplies (two cats, one dog), the grocery category, and finally the toys because my grand-niece’s birthday is coming up soon.
AVAILABLE IN THE US AND CANADA
I found coupons for ALL KINDS of places I shop at on a regular basis – Walmart, Target, Ebay, Amazon, PetSmart, AdditionElle and Lane Bryant (my favourite clothing stores!!), Payless Shoes, and Best Buy. There are coupons you can use online or in person and for retail stores in both Canada and the United States. This is perfect for me because I travel to the US a lot and with so much family there, I can purchase deals that I can use with them.
THE EASY WAY TO SAVE
Once I made my decision about which deals I was going to take advantage of this time, I simply needed to sign up for a new account (or sign in if you already have one) and pay with my credit card. I found a $5 off coupon for dog food at PetSmart , one for $50 off plus free shipping from Lane Bryant and another for 20% off Lego at ToysRUs. It took me under 15 minutes to find the deals I wanted and by taking that time, I was saving at least $75. Now that’s the kind of savings that even a lazy budgeter like me can get behind!
