Weekly Summer Meal Plan June 25

Welcome back to another summer meal plan! We had such a fun weekend. My son-in-law surprised my daughter with a little birthday party with her friends to celebrate her 30th. (Let me take a moment here for a big breath. How am I the mother of a 30 year old already???). They have such amazing friends so it was really fun and I finally got to meet Walter’s godparents’ baby too! He feels so tiny next my little moonpie. Walter had his 9 month well baby check and he’s nearly 2 1/2 feet tall and almost 21 lbs.

He is one of the happiest babies I’ve ever seen. Don’t get me wrong – he doesn’t like to go to sleep and will get grumpy about it. But the rest of the time, he is smiling and laughing! Walter has started doing the army crawl around the house. He gets pretty far and is really fast now. He has some favourite toys (he LOVES books and puzzles) but give him an empty water bottle or a box and he’s thrilled. Isn’t that always the way? He shakes his head “no” now and will even do it if you say the word “no” but he doesn’t seem to know what the word actually means yet. He does seem to be starting to recognize who Mama, Daddy, and Meemaw are by name though.

This week’s menu plan is based on a lot of outdoor grilling recipes. Fingers crossed the weather cooperates. It has been a little cooler and rainier lately.

I’m normally also planning extra simple meals on Saturdays and Sundays so that we truly can take a Sabbath and spend some time focusing on family and fun! This weekend is a bit off routine as we have a family party to attend and then a Canada Day celebration. I’ve put a couple of super simple meals throughout the week to make up for it.
