Weekly Summer Meal Plan July 2

Wow. Things have been pretty busy around here. As part of my daughter’s 30th birthday gift, her husband and I paid to bring her best friend here from Alberta. So, we’ve been having some fun showing her some of our favourite haunts. First off, we had a family birthday party for my grand niece, and then the next day, we headed across the border to Port Huron, Michigan. I could say we went there to go shopping but really, we wanted brunch at Bob Evans and dinner at Cracker Barrel. The shopping was just to kill some time in between.

Weekly Summer Meal Plan

Today is a BBQ at our house for some of the other side of the family. Meat on a stick – mmmmm! Tomorrow we’re off to one of our happy places, Sparta, Ontario. Winter Wheat is the most charming, whimsical place I’ve ever been and I just feel the stress starting to leave my body as soon as I get there. Follow that up with a visit to Sparta Country Candles and lunch at the Sparta House Tearoom and I will be in total heaven. Of course, we’ll probably have to make a stop at Port Stanley beach – our friend has never seen Lake Erie before and we’re trying to help her complete her “collection” of the Great Lakes.

So, on to this week’s meal plan:
