Weekly Meal Plan May 20 – 26

Happy Victoria Day! For those of you who don’t know, todayis a holiday here in Canada – the celebration of Queen Victoria’s birthday. Traditionally, the unofficial start of summer but we really haven’t had the weather for celebrating. Still, we did take a good break and even (finally!) managed to see Avengers Endgame. It was so good but whew, I am exhausted!

weekly meal plan

This week’s meal plan is continuing in hopes of some lovely summer-like weather and a chance to do some grilling. So far, we’re having too much rain but the forecast is indicating more but I am ever hopeful!

WEEKLY MEAL PLAN

YOUR GUIDE TO THE MEALS IN MY MENU PLANS:
FF = FREEZER FRIENDLY
SC = SLOW COOKER
MF = MEAT FREE
PLO = PLANNED LEFTOVERS
MA – MAKE AHEAD
BBQ – GRILLED FOOD

This Week’s Meals

You will find that most of these meals are under $10 based on prices (sale prices where possible) in London, Ontario, Canada. We are feeding a family of 4 – 3 adults and 1 toddler, all with healthy appetites. We generally have some leftovers from our meals and if these aren’t being used as part of another meal, they are used for lunches throughout the week.

Prices are based mostly on those at No Frills and FreshCo, the two grocery stores we frequent most often with an occasional shop at Loblaws for some of the more gourmet items (and because it’s just my favorite store – it even has a Starbucks!).

Monday –

Grilled lamb lollipops with garlic herb rub, Amish warm potato salad, tossed green salad

Tuesday –

Chicken and white bean burgers (recipe calls for turkey but we substitute chicken because we prefer it), raw veggies and Ranch dip

Wednesday –

Sloppy Joes, coleslaw, pickles

Thursday –

Grilled lemonade chicken (BBQ), bacon and cheddar macaroni salad, grilled asparagus, carrots

Friday –

Neapolitan layered pasta casserole, Caesar salad, garlic bread

Saturday –

BBQ Pulled Chicken Sandwiches (FF) (SC), coleslaw, baked beans, pickles

Sunday –

Sweet tea marinated pork chops, (BBQ), spaetzle (German egg noodles), corn, broccoli

Breakfasts and Lunches

Leftovers

Canned soups. Frozen soups and chili.

Eggs

Pancakes or waffles (we always have mix on hand)

Oatmeal

Cold cereal

Yogurt and bran cereal parfaits

Toast with jam and goat cheese or peanut butter

Sandwiches – lunch meat or chicken or cheese or cucumber and onions, selection depending on what’s on hand and on sale that week. This week we are having some egg salad wraps since both eggs and tortillas were on sale.

Salads – chef’s salad with hard boiled eggs, ham, and cheese added, Waldorf salad, Cobb salad
