Wedding Shopping at Canadian Tire

Wedding Shopping at Canadian Tire, CreativeCynchronicity.com

Of course, Canadian Tire is a store that immediately comes to mind when I need new snow tires, automobile fluids, or other auto part supplies or to have my car serviced and it does those things well, but it is so much more than that.

At first, my daughter was a bit hesitant when I suggested it as a great destination for some wedding shopping, but once we started looking around, she quickly realized I was right.  You can check out our full shopping experience here.

We started out in the kitchen department.  They had a full array of dishes, glassware, flatware, appliances, tools, gadgets, and more.  We were able to have a look at many items for the wedding registry.  Because Canadian Tire has a good selection of products at reasonable prices, we felt good about putting these items on the registry, knowing that many of the wedding guests will be friends of the bride and groom who are also young adults just starting out.

We’re making a lot of the items for decorating the wedding and reception ourselves so Canadian Tire is a fabulous resource for us.  They have a full hardware department of plumbing, electric, paints, and other such supplies!  We were looking for Krylon mirror spray paint to make faux Mercury Glass vases and cake stands as well as some chalkboard paint for creating rustic signs.  We’re also picking up some really little Command Adhesive hooks to try them as a way of hanging garlands from the chairs and balcony at the venue.

Canadian Tire also has a fantastic garden department.  It’s too early for the outdoor garden centre to be open (although I’m wishing for Spring as hard as I can!) but they’re starting to put out some of the barbecues and garden decorations.  So we wanted to check it out for a few reasons – I want to start planning my garden (we’ve had a lot of snow lately and it sure does cheer me up to do some spring shopping), my daughter wanted to add a barbecue to her registry, and since she’s planning a flower/garden themed wedding, we were hoping to score some items for the decor.  These little metal lanterns could be a lovely colourful touch to the reception.  The wedding colours are purple and yellow and the purple ones would be great.  And, the venue requirements state that the candles have to be contained in some kind of hurricane glass or lantern.

As you can see, we found all kinds of great buys at Canadian Tire!  Besides the selection and variety, customer service is always excellent – another reason I like to buy items that I need there as often as possible.  My daughter wants to make another trip back to check out the garden annuals and perennials – potential centerpieces and gifts to hand out at the wedding.  She also wants to bring her fiance to have a look at the camping gear so they can add that to their registry.  As soon as the weather warms up, I’ll be there picking up my new fishing license, grabbing some dew worms and lures, and heading off to the river!

Canadian Tire is great, but it can only use in Canadian Tire Shop. I really hope is can be used in other shop, that will be more convenient.
