cynsambabyHave you seen any of the Throwback Thursday (#TBT) posts out there on social media?  I think it’s so much fun to see what people looked like or learn about what they were doing years ago.  Entertainment – music, TV, and movies – was always a big part of my life and of special times with friends and family.

ghostspiderWho could forget that moment when the giant Stay Puft Marshmallow Man comes stomping through New York City in Ghostbusters? Or singing along to the Spiderman song – “Spiderman, Spiderman, does whatever a spider can….”?

sescurDo you remember when we were the only ones along with Big Bird who could see Snuffleupagus? Or the hilarious antics of Curious George – his curiosity always getting him into trouble and his friend the Man in the Yellow Hat always getting him out of it?

Netflix_Web_Logo Netflix allows us to relive the good old days and share those great memories with our own kids and grandkids! From Ghostbusters, Spiderman, The Secret of NIMH, and Honey I Shrunk the Kids for the older kids to Sesame Street, My Little Pony, Curious George, and Care Bears for the little ones, there’s something sure to please everyone.

shrinkyWhy not make a whole family night of it? Pop some popcorn, buy some Pop Rocks (that was my favourite candy when I was a kid – you could serve yours!) or make some pudding pops (remember those hysterical commercials with Bill Cosby?) and sit down to enjoy an evening of classics.  How about teaching your kids to make a fun nostalgic craft too? You spent hours with your EZ-Bake Oven making Shrinky Dinks — now you can inspire a new generation. If you need a refresher, click here to learn how to make your own.

What were your favourite TV shows and movies when you were a kid?
