“I received a free sample of Gerber Soothe® probiotic colic drops from Gerber. My thoughts and opinions are by my own.”
If you’re a regular reader, you’ve read about my experiences with a colicky baby before. You know that it’s something that babies will outgrow eventually but in the meantime, it can be exhausting and heartbreaking. No parent ever wants their child to be in pain and the hours spent trying to soothe them take their toll. Of course, this was years ago for me and my resources for helping my baby and her colic were quite limited. Thankfully, over the years, things have changed for the better and this time, I asked my niece Katy to share her experience with a baby who had colic with you.
Katy’s Story >>> “Giving birth to my sweet Sawyer was one of the best things that has ever happened to us. Breastfeeding did not work out for us beyond the first few weeks, so I began searching for a formula that would best suit Sawyer. Around the time we started making the switch, Sawyer became extremely uncomfortable and cranky. The evening hours became completely dreadful. Every single night around the same time, 7 or 8, Sawyer would be inconsolable. He would scream, cry, and fuss without any successful soothing methods. Colic became our enemy. It robbed us of happy smiling moments when it took over.
As a new and very young mom, it was extremely frustrating. I felt so terrible that I couldn’t calm my tiny baby down and make him feel better. After several doctors’ appointments to get some advice about his digestive discomfort, we made the decision to try some new formula options. Change after change, everything stayed the same. There were many nights when both his father and I had made several efforts to calm him. Eventually we would have to break down and get help from the grandparents to get a moment to regain our composure.
Throughout the experience I had several people tell their horrible stories with colic and how they felt so guilty for the discomfort that their child was feeling. Each parent had tried many different remedies with no luck. Finally, our doctor recommended Gerber Good Start Soothe. From the first few weeks of starting the formula, I knew it was the answer to our prayers. As Gerber says, less crying means more smiling and that certainly was true for us!
Thank goodness, Gerber heard parents (and babies) cry and decided to make a product that would so efficiently and quickly soothe uncomfortable babies. Gerber Good Start Soothe formula is a product that helps many families, like ours. In addition to this amazing product, Gerber Soothe Probiotic drops are the perfect complementary product for dealing with babies who are experiencing colic. The drops contain L. Reuteri, which has been proven to reduce the discomfort that is felt by infants during the colic stage. Gerber Soothe Probiotic drops are great for infants who are formula fed, like Sawyer, or even breastfed babies!
Infants unfortunately do not come home from the hospital with an instruction manual. However, if there was any advice that I would give new parents, it would be to have the Gerber Soothe Probiotic Colic Drops and even the Gerber Good Start Soothe formula on hand for the moment colic might strike. For those who don’t have babies in this stage anymore, these products make the best baby shower gifts. The parents will thank you later. With my next child there are many things that I will do differently, but using Gerber Good Start Soothe formula is not one. We could not be happier with the results from this product.”
