Looking out my window…
the sun is trying to poke its head out. It’s been rainy here and a little on the cooler side but it’s supposed to go up to the mid 60’s today. I might just head out to the back patio and get my work done out there.
I am thinking…
about getting caught up on my blogging. The past month (see below) has been too busy and my blog has been neglected. I’m excited to be writing again!
I am thankful…
for life getting back to normal. The month of April was pretty stressful. My son-in-law had to have his appendix out and then developed an infection. With him having to rest more and not being able to lift, my daughter and I needed to take on more responsibilities. He is now fully recovered with no restrictions. I’m, of course, happiest that he is fine, but I’m also relieved that we can all go back to our usual routines.
One of my favorite things…
This Paul Mitchell Wild Ginger Styling Treatment Oil is what I use to get the “winter out of my hair”. Winter makes my hair dry and brittle. A dab of this every night before bed is just the thing to restore it and make it soft and smooth again. I also use it before using any kind of heated tools like blow dryers, straighteners, curling irons, and so on on my hair.

I am creating…
some surprises for Mother’s Day and Father’s Day! Being only 19 months old, my grandson needed a bit of my help. 😉
I am wearing…
My favorite pair of ripped jeans and a gray v-neck “boyfriend” t-shirt. The only jewelry is a pair of tiny stud earrings because my grandson would tug on anything else. No socks because it’s May and as far as I’m concerned this is flip flop season but maybe I should put some one because my feet are cold!
I am reading (read) /watching (watched) / listening to…
I am reading: Sitting at the Feet of Rabbi Jesus: How the Jewishness of Jesus Can Transform Your Faith by Ann Spangler and Lois Tverberg.
I am watching: Ms. Fisher’s Modern Murder Mysteries and Lark Rise to Candleford
I am hoping…
that I didn’t tear the meniscus in my knee again – actually, I think I did it to both knees this time! There was water on the floor last night and I slipped and well, it sure felt like tearing. Sigh.
I am learning…
all about die cutting machines! I have a Cricut Maker still in the box and I am determined to get it out and start using it this month!
In my kitchen…
I’ve been making lots of comfort food. Meatloaf, Cottage Pie, roast chicken. Next up, beef stew! Yummy!
Some of our favorite comfort food recipes: Mom’s Chicken and Rice casserole, Neapolitan Layered Pasta, and Pierogi Casserole.
In the school room…
We don’t really have a school room yet but Walter has been learning all kinds of new things. He is walking pretty much non-stop now, has figured out how to get his cars to move, has a really good throwing arm with his ball, and is trying really hard to figure out how to get his clothing off and on.
In my garden…
there’s not much happening there yet but we do have a few irises and crocuses that have poked their heads up so far.
Board room…
I’ve been looking for lots of spring recipes, crafts, and inspiration over on Pinterest. You can check out my Spring Pinterest Board here.
