I never had sibling issues with my daughter – after all, she is an only child! But with my own brother and sister…well that’s a different matter. My siblings are very close in age to each other, being only 14 months apart. But me, I’m 8 and 9 years younger than they are. You can imagine the issues that caused. It’s tough to have a tag along 5 year old little sister when you’re teenagers of 13 and 14.

me and my siblings (and Aunt)One of the biggest bones of contention was the television. Finding something we could all agree on was one tough situation and the basis for many arguments. (Even now, when we get together, we can rarely agree on what to watch on TV!) Do you have that problem in your home too? Fortunately, Netflix has the solution. For the month of April, they have put together some Sibling Playlists that will help you find shows the whole family can enjoy together!

A Tale of Two Distant Ages Playlist

Fret no longer, this playlist caters to both your 5-year-old AND your 14-year-old, including:

ANTZ                                                       HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON 2

Sugar and Spice Playlist
If one kid’s sassy and the other one’s sweet, this playlist will be sure to please, including:

LEGO FRIENDS: THE POWER OF FRIENDSHIP                            DAWN OF THE CROODS

“Meet in the Middle” Playlist
Deciding on a genre is hardest when it comes to watching together. From comedy to action, this playlist includes titles that have a little bit of everything for everyone.

ALL HAIL KING JULIEN                                                           PEE-WEE’S BIG HOLIDAY

STILL CAN’T DECIDE?

I suggest creating a spinner (like you’d use for a board game) or fortune teller (remember those from when you were a kid?) with the various options on it! It might be the only way you can agree on anything. LOL

And if we’re going to get the family together to watch some awesome shows and movies on Netflix, then we’re going to need to feed them too!

chickendumplings Chicken and dumplings is something all the siblings in my family can agree on! Yum!

What are your favourite family night shows on Netflix?
