If you’re a regular reader around here, it’s no secret that I have some health issues.
Right after my car accident I was on so many medications, I had to use alarms on my phone and one of those multi-sectioned pill organizers in order to keep them straight. They were a necessity at the time but after a while, the side effects began to outweigh the benefits. And while I respect what traditional medication can do for me, my preference is always to find natural solutions if possible.
So, when given the opportunity to try a Pure Hazelwood bracelet, I was intrigued. Ok, intrigued with a healthy dose of skepticism. I mean, sometimes the simple answers seem….well, just too simple. But it was worth a try.
I was sent a Pure Hazelwood bracelet and started wearing it right away. I wore it for just over 2 weeks. So, I guess the big question now is: During those two weeks, did I notice a difference?
Here is what I found. My eczema, which flared up quite a bit during the summer (and always worsens as we approach winter) was much better. The dry, scaly areas became smaller, there were fewer sores, less peeling, and decreased redness. There was a definite marked improvement.
Of course, it’s possible that it was just a coincidence. My eczema is prone to flaring up and then settling down, flaring up, settling down, like a roller coaster ride. Maybe this was just one of those times of “settling down”.
How could I know for sure? I took the bracelet off.
Since then, the patches of eczema are growing in size. The redness and peeling have worsened. There are more of them cropping up. Needless to say, I’m putting the bracelet back on.
Hazel wood has been used by Native Americans for centuries because of its medicinal properties. Research has shown it to be rich in polyphenols which have demonstrated antioxidant, antibacterial, and anti-inflammatory effects. Hazel wood can help with teething pain, colic, arthritis (joint pain), skin problems (psoriasis, eczema), digestive disorders (heartburn) and mouth sores.
