So, my weekend was eventful – how about yours? Several years ago I tore the cartilage in my knee and it’s never quite been the same ever since. I was actually pleasantly surprised at how well I did in Quebec City. If you haven’t been there before, just know that it was built on a hill so everywhere you go there are hills and steps to climb. It wasn’t until the last couple days there that my knee started aching a little bit. Still, it was only a small ache. It’s been hurting since then but nothing too bad. That is, until yesterday. There I was minding my own business walking down the stairs and SNAP.
I could feel the pop in my knee and actually screamed and cried from the ensuing pain. (That’s not like me, being someone with chronic pain for the last 20 years). Turns out I didn’t tear the cartilage again like I thought I had. Instead, I tore two of the ligaments – my MCL and PCL. Sigh. Of course, I still insisted on having some Mother’s Day fun so we headed out to Family Circle for breakfast (I highly recommend the Montana Style Eggs – YUM!) and then to Storybook Gardens. My little Moonpie even took his first ride down a slide! All in all, it was a lovely weekend (despite my knee).
