Welcome back to another Menu Plan Monday! Spring is in the air around here and whew, does it ever feel good to shake off winter. One of my favourite things about spring and summer is the amazing selection of local foods and I can’t wait to start frequenting the farmers’ markets. In the meantime, here are some of the sale items in London, Ontario grocery stores that stood out for me this week.

Sales I’m Taking Advantage of This Week:

FreshCo – Omega 3 eggs in containers of 18 for $3.67 (I can’t eat fish so I try to use other products to get my Omega 3s), Silk Almond milk 1.89 L for $2.97 (love this in my smoothie bowls or overnight oats in a jar when I can get it on sale), 1.2 kg bags of chicken wings for $6.97 (I like to put some of these in freezer bags with a marinade already in it so I can just take them out of the freezer and cook them! It’s the most effective way I’ve ever found for marinating meat), 9 pack of pork chops for $6.97, boneless skinless chicken breasts for $4.97 lb, cucumbers 99 cents each, broccoli $1.49 each, cilantro 69 cents a bunch, 10 lb bag of yellow fleshed potatoes for $2.49, bunch of spinach 99 cents

Loblaws (price matching) – Ritz crackers $1.88 a box, Ragu spaghetti sauce 99 cents a jar

Food Basics (price matching) – tuna 99 cents a can (I can’t eat it myself but my daughter likes it), Red Hots hot dogs $1.88 a package of 12, hot dog buns $1.88 a package of 12, stewing beef $3.88 lb, cauliflower $2.50 a head, Catelli pasta 99 cents a box, fresh O Sole Mio ravioli and tortellini twin packs for $5 each but it’s BOGO, Natrel milk $4.99 a bag

This Week’s Menu Plan:

Monday – Meatless Monday – Ricotta, pea, and arugula quiche, tossed salad

Tuesday – My sister in law Jerri’s pork chops and rice, broccoli, carrots

Wednesday – Crispy Oven Baked Ritz Cheddar Chicken, Hasselback potatoes, spinach

Thursday – Toasted ravioli with pasta sauce for dipping, tossed salad, garlic toaste

Friday – Meat Free Friday – Black bean and cheese quesadillas with cilantro, cucumber salad

Saturday – Super Simple Saturday – Coney Island hot dogs (they should have onion, grated cheese, and beanless chili but it’s hard to find beanless chili here so I’m using the Ragu sauce), coleslaw, veggies with Ranch dip

Sunday – Sabbath Sunday – Chicken wings (literally just dump from the freezer bag onto a baking sheet and pop in the oven), oven fries,

MPM_Button.

What are you making this week?
