A few weeks ago, I was sharing with you some of my ideas for finding happiness in everyday life. I was having a tough week and really needed to make an effort to grab onto something that would bring a smile to my face. So, I shared a list of 10 movies that are guaranteed to make me smile. Well now, let me share with you 5 movies you can find on Netflix that are sure to make my family laugh out loud every single time:

Shrek Ever After - 70117295_8869230 Shrek Forever After – love any and all things Shrek! My daughter and I have been known to even randomly quote the movie to each other and sometimes she even refers to me as “Don-kay”. In this particular one, Shrek is having a mid-life crisis of sorts and of course, that makes him prime pickings for the one and only Rumpelstiltskin. A great message in the movie when Shrek realizes what’s really important in life.

Cloudy with a Chance - 70113007_4231527

Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs – This was always a favourite book in my classroom and I was so happy they made it into a movie. The residents of Swallow Falls are having a tough time and can only afford sardines. So Flint Lockwood, a local inventor, builds a machine that turns water into food and soon yummy food is falling from the sky like rain. Of course, the machine goes out of control and soon the town is drowning in food!

Despicable-Me
Despicable Me – How could you not love this movie? I mean, MINIONS!!!! Gru, the “villain” of the story is setting out to steal the moon with the help of his army of minions. Little does he suspect that along the way he’ll meet three adorable girls in need of a home who decide they want him for their dad. Chaos and hilarity ensue.

Kung Fu Panda 2 - 70126574_4193770

Kung Fu Panda 2 – Another tale of good vs. evil with good being led by the Dragon Warrior (and panda) Po. Po, of course, is good-hearted, talented, and a klutz making him all the more lovable.

Mr Poppers Pen - 70178623_1296483

Mr. Popper’s Penguins – This was one of my absolute favourite books when I was a kid so of course I couldn’t wait to see the movie! Mr. Popper has been leading a hectic life as a real estate developer in Manhattan. He’s very good at his job but his busy lifestyle has left him at odds with his ex-wife and kids. Enter 6 penguins left to him by his father and well, what life wouldn’t get better with a bunch of penguins in it?

Disclosure – I have received compensation from Netflix in exchange for my post.  All opinions are my own.
