On today’s In the Season, I demo’d how to make this cute photo holder from paint sticks and clothespins.  It could also function as a greeting card or memo holder.  I made it in colours that go with most of my Christmas decorations (blue and silver) but not in a distinctly Christmas design so that I could use it now for Christmas cards and after the holidays for photos.  I also thought it would be super cute with the name of each member of the family on it – one per stick and then that could be the spot for messages or love notes just for them.  Note:  I left the hanger as is so everyone could see what I was working with.  You could hang them from something other than a hanger or decorate the hanger by wrapping with ribbon etc.

If you wanted it to be strictly for the holidays, you could make one of the sticks into a snowman, one into a Nutcracker soldier, one into Santa, and a couple into candy cane striped ones.  These also make for pretty “stand alone” projects by just using, for example, the snowman by itself as a door or wall decoration.

Robi joined us on camera and taught us a little about Hanukkah and showed us some of the lovely Hanukkah cards she has been making.

Finally, I showed how to make these cute snowflakes from toilet paper rolls (what else? lol) and chenille stems (pipecleaners).  I painted one of them white and the other silver, but they are quite adorable and retro looking even when left natural.

If you’d like to see the full demo’s on how to make these items, please check out the replay of today’s show.  Linqto only archives 5 shows at a time, so this show will only be available for a week or two!
