Are you a crafter like me? Have you ever wondered about how you could use your crafty powers for good? (not that you’re currently using them for evil – I was just looking for a clever way of saying it). I’ve gathered up a list of a few things you can make and donate to someone in need.

Ideas for Crafting with Compassion:

Crochet caps for premature infants or cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy

Make blankets and sleeping sacks for the homeless

Sew post mastectomy comfort pillows

Make toys, beds, and blankets for pets in shelters and rescues

Crochet a plastic sleeping mat for the homeless

Make cards to send to the troops so that they have cards to send back home to their families. Or make cards for hospitalized children here or here.

If you’re planning to take these items to a local hospital, shelter, or agency, I would double check with them first to be sure that what you’ve got planned meets with their needs and any special requirements they might have.

Do you know of any other organizations or causes that we could craft for? Please let me know in the comments and I’ll add them here!
