Have you tried the latest craze? Dalgona Coffee! I heard it first became “a big deal” on TikTok but I’m not on there so I just saw friends sharing it on Facebook. I was instantly intrigued and asked my son in law to grab me some instant coffee on his next trip to the store.
It did not disappoint. So you can believe I’ve been trying variations on just the basic whipped Dalgona coffee. That’s when I took it to the next level with this Dalgona Coffee Ice Cream. Double yum! If you love coffee and you love ice cream, you’ve got to try this!
How to Make Dalgona Coffee Ice Cream
Not only is this incredibly delicious, but it’s super easy too. There are many Dalgona “formulas” out there but I’ve found this one gives me the best, most consistent results. Scroll down for a printable recipe.
Ingredients:
-2 tbsp of instant coffee
-2 tbsp sugar
-2 tbsp hot water
-Vanilla Ice Cream
Instructions:
-Whisk together instant coffee, sugar, and hot water until peaks are formed. (You can use a hand whisk, a hand mixer or a stand mixer. Your choice)
-Fill a bowl with ice cream (however many scoops you desire)
-Top with one to three spoonfuls of the whipped coffee mixture on top and serve!
Variations – add a little chocolate or caramel sauce on top of the Dalgona coffee. If using caramel, I like to add a few flakes of coarse salt (pink Himalayan is my favorite) too. You could also top with whipped cream if you would like, but the whipped coffee is already serving as sort of a whipped topping in itself.
