Festive Friday Blog Hop #6

Welcome to another Festive Friday!  Festive Fridays is a bimonthly blog hop hosted by Terri Sproul.  It gives us the opportunity to create Christmas cards all year long so that we have a batch of them ready to send out at the holidays.  You should have arrived here from:   Angela’s blog  If you’d like to start the hop from the beginning, head on over to: Terri’s blog.

Last week I spent my birthday at my buddy Roberta’s house (her birthday is only 3 days after mine so we wanted to celebrate together).  Roberta took me out for dinner at a lovely little restaurant and then we hit up Michaels for a shopping excursion.  As soon as I spotted this Nutcracker soldier rubber stamp, I knew that it was going to be the focus of my next Festive Friday card.  I collect Nutcracker soldiers and they (and the ballet) hold very special sentimental meaning for me and my daughter.  By the way, the stamp was from the $1 (well, $1.50 here in Canada) bin but since it was a Christmas one on clearance, I got it for a penny!!

For the rest of the card, I have taken my inspiration from the envelope on the left.  The papers that I used for it came from a pad that Roberta had (she cleaned out her stash and I benefitted from it!).  I added a red paper doily leftover from Valentine’s Day, the pompom trim and the scalloped velvet trim at the bottom came from my stash, and finally, used a wired baker’s twine as the bow.

Thanks for stopping by!

Your next stop is Robin’s Nest  Full list of participants is below! Have fun hopping!

Thanks Liz! And hint taken LOL. Actually the best ones to send you would be some of the acrylic blocks and the clear stamps – flat and easy to mail inexpensively AND they have those for $1.50. The penny ones are kind of hit or miss – you don’t know until you get to the register. I’ll look for some stamps to send.
