Disclosure: I’m a member of the Netflix #Streamteam and receive compensation in exchange for my posts. I’m also a huge fan of Netflix and am happy to share my honest opinions with my readers!

Tiptoeing down the darkened hallway, flashlight in hand and magnifying glass to my eye, I listened intently for any sound, however small. I peered around the corner and spied a small shadow moving quickly across the room. As I moved closer, I could hear a rustling sound, like that of crinkling plastic. My flashlight caught sight of a chip bag lying on the floor. It was moving, as if something were inside. I crept carefully towards the bag, steeled my nerves, and swooped it up quickly. Mystery solved! I had found my missing pet mouse!

Ok so I fancied myself a bit of an amateur sleuth when I was a kid. I couldn’t help myself – I’ve always loved a good mystery. I grew up on Scooby Doo, Get Smart, The Man from UNCLE, Nancy Drew, and the Bobbsey Twins. When I was a bit older, I remember watching shows like Columbo, Matlock, and McMillan and Wife with my family. It’s still my genre of choice for books, TV shows, and movie.

I must have passed this along to my daughter because when she was younger, we loved to sit down together and watch Scooby Doo, Inspector Gadget, and movies like SpyKids! She even had a detective themed party for her 8th birthday! Now the younger members of our family can have fun watching these too because there’s a great selection of mysteries for kids on Netflix including:
