All aboard! Thomas the Tank Engine invites little engineers to join him for a day of big adventures and even bigger memories at Day Out with Thomas: Big Adventures Tour 2018. Children everywhere can spend a day with their friend Thomas when the #1 Engine pulls into St. Thomas, Ontario on July 14-15 & 21-22 2018. Day Out with Thomas: Big Adventures Tour 2018 is presented by Mattel.

We’ve been every year for quite a few years now and it’s always such fun! You can join in on the fun too. Read on for more information. AND you’ll be able to enter for your chance to win a family pack (4) of tickets to either a Sunday July 15th or Sunday July 22nd afternoon train ride. 

Also, for some at home Thomas the Tank Engine fun, here are some printable Thomas and friends colouring sheets and puzzles. 

A Fun-Filled Family Event

This is a fun-filled family event providing children of all ages the chance to climb aboard and ride with Thomas. In addition, there are really fun Thomas & Friends™ themed activities such as crafts, photo ops, and more. You can even meet Sir Topham Hatt, Controller of the Railway in person! Children who attend Day Out With Thomas in 2018 will also receive a ‘Passport to Adventures’ booklet. In it, they can track their journey at the event, along with a special prize upon completion.

Trains Depart Every 45 Minutes

Thomas the Tank Engine rides depart every 45 minutes, rain or shine. Departure times begin at 9:30 am through 4:15 pm each day of the event.  Tickets for Day Out with Thomas are $25 plus tax for ages two and up, and include one 25-minute train ride at the departure time purchased, all on-site activities throughout the day, and free admission to the Elgin County Railway Museum, just 5 minutes from the event site.  Gates are open 8am to 6pm Saturdays during the event, and 8:30am – 5:30pm on Sundays.

Proceeds from the tour’s St. Thomas stop, benefit the Elgin County Railway Museum.  This will be the 14^th consecutive year the non-profit organization has hosted the Day Out With Thomas event in the city.

How early should I arrive?
It is advised to arrive an hour ahead of departure time to park, pick up tickets and board Thomas The Tank Engine. Of course, feel to arrive earlier and stay later to enjoy all the Day out with Thomas activities.

Where is the train ride located?

The train departs from the St. Thomas-Elgin Memorial Centre at 80 Wilson Ave.  St. Thomas, ON

About The St. Thomas – Elgin Memorial Centre

Established in 1989, the Elgin County Railway Museum is a not-for-profit charity with an elected Board of Directors, and over 120 members.  Their mission is to collect, preserve and interpret the railway heritage of Southwestern Ontario, which will engage, educate and inspire local and global audiences.  Visitors are invited to take a tour and explore railway artifact displays, historical photos, locomotives, cabooses, rolling stock, and the History in Motion model railway.

The Elgin County Railway Museum is located at 225 Wellington Street, St. Thomas, Ontario.  Regular admission is $8 per adult, $7 Students & Seniors,  $4 per child and children under 3 years old are admitted free.  The Museum is open Tuesday – Sunday during the summer months, 10 am to 4 pm, and is closed on Mondays.
