Beat Bugs Bring the Whole Family Together with Music

Family movie nights. Car-ride duets. Weekend dance fests. The best times in my family have almost always happened over music. My grandfather played clarinet in the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, my dad sang in a barbershop quartet, my mom sang in the church choir, and my daughter studied vocal music at university (she also plays piano and violin!). We have always been a very musical family. Events in our lives are often tied to certain songs, we speak in lyrics, we bond over music. We introduce each other to new music while sharing the old classics too.  The next generation has gotten in on the action too with their own instruments and family jam sessions!

With the new Netflix original series Beat Bugs, inspired by the music of The Beatles, our family sing-along time can include classics such as Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds or Blackbird! Thanks to five charming and energetic bug-like creatures (Jay, Kumi, Crick, Buzz and Walter), families have the opportunity to come together over kid-friendly storylines and amazing music – re-recorded by today’s top artists, including P!nk, Sia and Eddie Vedder.

We want you to get in on the action too! Show us your best family jam session and you could win a prize. Submit video of you and your family’s “All You Need is Love” cover by sharing it on Instagram with the hashtag #BeatBugs. Then email me the perma-link and boom! You could be the lucky winner of a 3-month subscription to Netflix. Open to residents of Canada only. Entries must be in by 11:59 pm Eastern on September 15, 2016. Void where prohibited.
