Very little can be more fun for children than having their parents act like kids again too. Much joy and laughter can be found in getting down on the floor and playing with them on their level. Play cars with your kids – make all those car noises and zoom them around the floor together….OR play dolls together, engaging in whatever scenario your child desires. Not only will they enjoy having you as a part of their play, but you can also model some behaviour for them while you play together – how to react calmly when something goes wrong like a tire falling off one of the cars, how to properly handle a baby, and so on. You can even take it to the next level by setting up a tea party for their favourite toys or by helping them stage an elaborate wedding for Barbie. Knowing that you value what your child values can be so important to them and will remain with them forever.
This blog post is part of a month long series. It’s a blog hop of sorts – many different bloggers are taking part, presenting a variety of topics in a 31 day series.
